ACTION MESSAGE

An enthusiastic leader of MAS Records for many years, I have now taken on a new role at MAS Lab to set up an operational team of audacious and passionate artists/volunteers from various walks of life in a collaborative connection mechanism. MAS Lab aims to create opportunities for concept-driven projects finding ways to engage with your town. Our goal is to make our endeavours people-centric and not only product-centric.

For the last few months, I have been on a mission of awareness exploring freedom of movement and the right of a person to travel whether as a refugee, immigrant or vacationer. The recent Migrant X production at Kidderminster College addressed some of the issues still ongoing with MAS Lab artists who are exploring the creation and expression of cultural identity through the arts.

The legalities of migration and statelessness will continue to define our future MAS Lab projects.

MAS Lab have become Agents for Change with the launch the Shared Ground Project this September, which will create the Grow Room; a green space community garden in the foyer area of Kidderminster College. Awareness days will follow with performances and speakers who have an appetite to stimulate the interest of people for the arts and to further also address social and political matters. Hopefully this will lead us all to have more productive, active, engaged and fulfilling lives.

We aim to further inspire constructive change in our community and to become part of the Kidderminster College educational system that champions creativity as the foundation of economic health.
